Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse

Position Summary:
Centurion Surgery Center is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery team. The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care by serving as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, maintaining a sterile environment, and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.

 Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures in accordance with established standards of nursing practice.
  • Prepare operating rooms with the necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and medications for scheduled procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent forms, and required documentation prior to surgery.
  • Coordinate patient positioning, skin preparation, and intraoperative safety measures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with infection prevention and aseptic technique standards.
  • Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures and communicate changes to the surgeon and anesthesia provider.
  • Document all perioperative care accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical staff to promote efficient workflow and outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Assist with room turnover, equipment checks, and supply management to support daily surgical operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with AAAHC, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and Company policies.
  • Provide support in Pre-Op and PACU as needed, based on patient volume and operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the surgical team.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of operating room nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, and infection prevention practices.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).

Preferred:
  • Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience.
  • Experience circulating orthopedic, spine, pain management, or outpatient surgical procedures.
  • Experience with fluoroscopic procedures and image-guided interventions.
